When it comes to having more energy, where do you start?
This is a question often asked by our Transition Hub cohorts. There’s so much information out there about wellbeing that it’s natural to feel a bit overwhelmed about where to start.
Every single decision we make whether consciously, or not, impacts our energy and potentially the energy of others. This is magnified in times of stress, particularly when in career transition.
That’s why we have partnered with Transition Hub to support people to develop the skill of ‘energy intelligence’ or ‘ExIQ’ to build awareness of these decisions and enable them to become more present and mindful.
The job-search process can zap both our energy and confidence, so it’s important to keep a few key principles top of mind when it comes to maintaining a positive mindset and your energy reserves.
Here’s a simple three-step process we use with all Energx clients to help you do just that.
Context: It’s essential to understand where you’re at today vs where you want to be. This simple 5-minute Energy ExIQ assessment is designed to do just that. It’ll help you identify what’s energising you, what’s not, and how to set new energy goals. It’s also important here to think of a strong emotional motivator to reach your goals. It needs to be important enough that failing is not an option.
Confidence: When we learn and practice the right skills and have the right plan in place we gain confidence. This is the same when it comes to our wellbeing. Once you’ve completed your assessment you’ll be taken to a micro skills library of free content. Each skill is simply designed to help you reach your energy goals. Focus on mastering one skill at a time before moving onto the next one.
Community: We are 95% more likely to be successful when we ask someone to hold us accountable for doing the work. So, once you have your plan in place, share it with someone you trust and ask them to check in on you regularly to help keep you on track. Even better, do the Energy ExIQ assessment together and support each other through all three steps.
Community and collaboration are essential parts of the Transition Hub experience with peer support forming a solid foundation to help you achieve your career aspirations and wellbeing goals.
You can use the assessment at any time to check back on your progress and for more background on Energy ExIQ check out the TEDx Talk.
